Organization

SAPience.be is the independent Belgian SAP User group and for more than 20 years the platform for all SAP users in Belgium. SAPience.be supports users of SAP software in increasing the added value of SAP within their organization. On the one hand by stimulating and organizing knowledge exchange, on the other hand by looking after the interests of SAP users at the SAP organization. SAPience.be has 9 focus groups, its own website and a newsletter. In addition, master classes, theme days and yearly 2 flagship events: USERday and TECHday. With more than 60 member organizations (companies, governments and SAP service providers) and still growing, SAPience.be is the voice of Belgian SAP users. We represent the Belgian SAP users, as well through SUGEN (SAP User Group Executive Network), which is a confederation of the country based SAP user groups globally (bundles 65% of worldwide SAP users), as well at SAP board level and influence SAP from a service, license and product development perspective.

SAPience.be board

SAPience.be is a non-profit association steered by a board elected by the voting members. Today this board steers the user group and does the operational management. Next to that there is an extended board, which consists of all focus group leaders and the steering board. They steer SAPience.be from a content point of view towards master classes, flagship events and influencing SAP. Daily operations, both back- and front-office, organizing master classes (20 plus) and event management of the 2 flagship events is done by our trustworthy partner Comith NV.

Culture

SAPience.be is an active knowledge organization that consists of committed and passionate volunteers with an SAP heart. The mutual contacts in the association are informal, professional, open and are generally experienced as pleasant. The cooperation between members, board and Comith is openhearted, direct, and is based on mutual respect for the person and his or her professionalism.

Job description

The managing director of SAPience.be acts as the first point of contact for the members, partners and the board of SAPience.be. You are responsible for setting up, expanding and maintaining important contacts for the association, for example with the management of SAP Belgium. The managing director is responsible to grow the member community of SAPience.be. The managing director is responsible for the daily operational management, such as essential tasks include shaping the operational policy and the organization of events and steers Comith to realize these tasks. In future the managing director will be responsible for the design, set-up and implementation of the personnel policy and will become responsible to do the people management. Of course, the managing director is responsible for the financial policy and its implementation and also provides direction to the IT activities.

As the secretary of the board, the managing director is responsible for the preparation of the Board and General Members Meeting, which of course are also attended. The decisions taken there must be worked out and implemented by the managing director.
