The Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) project by SAP

The Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) project by SAP

Governments in the Netherlands and in Belgium already mandate electronic invoices with public customers. Further EU countries will follow by April 18, 2019.

Under Directive 2014/55/EU, central public authorities of EU countries have to support electronic invoices latest by April 18, 2019. Corresponding measures have been taken in the Netherlands and Belgium. Germany has passed its transcription law (E-Rech-VO) and further countries are following.

Companies supplying public customers such as ministries, local schools, universities, hospitals, and military organizations are affected by the directive. The Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) project is the main approach supported by the EU to enable interoperability across countries and providers.
